Handel's Messiah

This past weekend was a whirlwind of activity.  My brother & two sisters & I sang in a production of Handel's Messiah put on by our town's Symphony Orchestra.  We began practice with the Symphonic Choir at the first of October. (It doesn't seem that long ago, but I know it was much warmer then!) The performances were this past Saturday & Sunday at 8:00 & 2:00 respectively.  It was so wonderful.  If you have never sat on stage with a full orchestra while they play, you must do so some time - you will not regret it!

My sister Megan took all these pictures as I was otherswise occupied.  She does an excellent job and is one of my second photographers for weddings and events....

Thanksgiving 2011

Thanksgiving is always a day to relax at our house - which is much needed right now!  Back when my grandma was alive we always went to her house for Thanksgiving and we loved it.  But she's been gone for almost 11 years now, so we've grown accustomed to staying home.

We slept in this morning (very nice!), then had dinner on by 1:00 - which was just delicious.  This afternoon was just for being lazy & enjoying good company. We usually go for a walk in the afternoon and I took pictures along the way.  I'm just a little biased, but I think my little sister is absolutely adorable!  And my mom dressed her so cute today. (Well, she's always dressed cute - I think her clothes are better than mine sometimes!)

Oh, and I got my logo this week!  I really, really love it - thanks Jocelyn for helping me out!  Tell me what you think .....

The Blue Whale of Catoosa

The Blue Whale is located along historic Route 66 and even though it's in my home state, I'd never been there until recently.  It used to be a popular swimming hole before they closed it due to health concerns. It is quite a tourist draw.  While there only about 30 minutes, I was asked to take pictures for a group of people who spoke with thick foreign accents.  Another person said he'd driven all the way from Memphis just to see it!  Besides being a really interesting piece of architecture, it is an excellent photo shoot location.  My littlest sister had a blast playing there and didn't want to leave when it was time to go.  I got some adorable shots of her (and my other sisters too)......

Bethany & Brady's Wedding Day

Our family has known Bethany's family for a long time - it's hard to remember exactly how long.  I think my first clear memory of Bethany is when she & sister Sarah sang "The Cow Jumped Over the Moo-oo-oon" at a Homeschool program we were both participating in.  She must've been around 3 or 4 at the time. They were so cute!  Many memories since then .....

I was not the primary photographer at Bethany's wedding (check out On The Wall Photography - they're great!) but Bethany gave me permission to get some shots all day and they turned out great.  Thanks Bethany & Brady for letting me work with you both - you were wonderful! May God bless you as you begin your life together....
