More from Ecuador!

I am having a blast here in Ecuador - the days are full, and the nights are too! Not much time for sleep. My team won the World Cup today (you just thought it ended weeks ago!) and the kids were ecstatic. Honestly, they played their hearts out! Remember to go to www.globalencounter.com and get on the blog for full updates. Or visit their fan page on facebook - I try to post pictures every day. Thanks for your prayers - remember us this weekend as we travel back to the States. I'm not ready to leave!

Only Five Days to Go!

While it's true that it's only five days until I set out for (and arrive in) Ecuador, I am actually leaving from here in 4 days. I'll be flying to Florida to meet up with the team and then we all fly out together on Saturday. I'll be getting up at some un-earthly hour to make my flight, but I should arrive in Florida with plenty of daylight left. :)
This week looks to be full of preparations for leaving - I'm already packing! Last week I was asked to be the "official" trip photographer. I'm excited! It will keep me on my toes, but I wanted lots of pictures anyway. They sent me a new watermark to use on my pictures with the GE logo and my business name. It's in Lightroom, all ready to use:

This of course, is not Ecuador - it's one Laura took when we were in Iowa

While we are in Ecuador, Global Encounters does a pretty good job of keeping everyone back home updated.  You can follow my trip in several ways. The blog on the GE website: http://globalencounter.com/blog/
Then, they also post regular updates and pictures on their facebook fan page. To get updates this way, Like their page: www.facebook.com/GlobalEncounter  Note that facebook has changed policies on Fan Pages. In order to actually see fan page posts in your newsfeed, you need to Like the page, then hit "Follow" (right next to the Like button). There will also be a drop-down list from the "Like" button. Click on "Get Notifications". This should cause pictures, etc. to appear in your newsfeed. Also, if you "like" photos or statuses, they tend to put more from those fan pages in your feed as well.
I hope to post some on this blog, but time may not permit that! However, I will have posts full of pictures when I return.  Again, I ask for your prayers for myself and my team as we spread the gospel in Ecuador. Our mission will be more powerful with the prayers of God's people. Thank-you and God Bless!

It's the Fourth of July!

"Posterity! you will never know how much it cost the present generation to preserve your freedom! I hope you will make a good use of it. If you do not, I shall repent in Heaven that I ever took half the pains to preserve it." -John Adams
