A favorite pastime - feeding ducks

We went down to Oklahoma City last week for a family reunion. We spent the afternoon visiting, then all went out to eat at a Mexican place in Bricktown. The kids especially liked feeding the ducks at the place where the reunion was held. And I loved the opportunity for some great pictures. So happy with these.....

More from Samuel's Outdoor Shoot

A few months back I posted a preview of Samuel's Senior Shoot. With the busy summer we had, I never got back to posting more.  Soon we'll do a studio session, hopefully our schedule will allow that soon. :) I was really happy with the way these turned out. Samuel is pretty easy to photograph - his quiet, layed-back personality comes out pretty clear in these shots. Great job Sam!

Kaleb Senior Preview

After 2 weeks of cool weather, we were hit with a heat wave over Labor Day weekend. Temperatures were once again over 100 degrees. Kaleb's shoot had been scheduled for a couple of weeks before (when it was cool), but was rained out, so we re-scheduled for Labor Day evening. Therefore, we had a nice hot day for our shoot, but we made it work.  :)  We drank plenty of water, worked fast and stayed in the shade as often as possible!  I was really happy with the results. I've worked with this family for a wedding & family shoot and enjoy them every time.  Great job Kaleb - hope you like these as much as I do....

My New Toy

In June the local camera store liquidated stock for two weeks and then auctioned off the rest.  My sisters & I spent hours there looking through everything and buying up camera stuff at rock-bottom prices. We found some lenses, filters, straps, bags, books & much more. It was almost like Christmas ..... only we had to pay the bill. <smile>  My favorite purchases were two old cameras. I don't know yet whether I can make them work or not, but if not they'll make great props. I used money I got for my birthday for these.... and my little sister says "big people" don't get toys for birthdays.

Absolutely LOVE the flash on this one

The bellows on this one are so "old-fashioned"

Teeny Ballerina

I took these pictures quite some time ago - soon after I got my new digital camera.  Must've been around 2008.  This little cutie has always loved dancing, ballet & dressing up.  My heart melted when I saw these pictures again.... I can't believe she's so big now.

Dressing Up....

My little sister wanted to play "dress up" this week, so we dragged out all the stuff and I made her up time and again.  We do this from time to time, she & I.  She decides what she wants to be and then we go through everything she has.... raid the sisters & mother's closets...... and even pick a few things from the boys' room at times (especially for cowgirl) to make it "poefect" (her word for "the best").  Once she's all done she looks in the mirror & smiles.  What a great way to spend the afternoon - I wouldn't have it any other way.

Of course the camera comes into play.  She used to tire of the camera very quickly - I think she's resigned to it now.

Recording - Session 2

Our calendar has been quite full of late. We recently went back to the studio to record more songs for our CD. This time only the girls went. We were able to record 5 songs in a little over 2 hours and were very happy with all of them.

Once again, our friend Mark from Nashville came to help us. We so appreciate his expertise & guidance. Earlier in the day he took some of my siblings out for target practice. (Around here, that's a favorite pastime.) It was a great day - thanks so much Mark!
